The International Music Summer Camp (ISMS) warmly invites young violin, viola, cello, and piano students aged 10 to 18 to gather at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall in New York following a six-day elite training program led by top-tier musicians and distinguished preparatory faculty from leading music conservatories. Our teaching team consists of internationally acclaimed musicians and outstanding educators, including Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra Benjamin Bowman, First Prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition Stella Chen, and Ole Akahoshi, Director of Yale Cellos at Yale University. These artists will guide students in a deep exploration of the musicianship and creative spirit of music making.
The educational philosophy of the ISMS is centered around the core principles of “listening, collaboration, and communication.” Through immersive chamber music rehearsals with faculty members, we not only aim to cultivate solid technical foundations in our students but also emphasize independent thinking and innovative expression in music interpretation. We believe that true artists are not only masters of technique but also conveyors of emotion and thought. Thus, students will have the opportunity to discover and develop their unique musical language through close collaboration with mentors and peers, further enhancing their musical literacy and artistic vision.
Additionally, the ISMS’s training location in New York City, with its unparalleled cultural atmosphere and rich musical tradition, provides an exceptional learning platform for participants. Here, students will have access to world-class classical music education and performance opportunities, as well as the chance to visit top music conservatories such as The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music, experiencing firsthand the forefront of global music education. The culmination of the camp will be a final performance at Carnegie Hall, marking the pinnacle of their musical journey and serving as a beautiful testament to their hard work and artistic pursuit.
